    Uncovering Self-Existing

    Confidence

    with Moh Hardin

"Training to be a warrior is learning to rest in basic goodness, to rest in                                                       a complete state of simplicity."                                                                                                                                                                                     Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche

In this program, we will explore the vital role of unconditional confidence on the Buddhist path. Unconditional means not having confidence in something but remaining in a state of confidence.    This confidence is innate in all of us. The path of meditation uncovers that which obscures this confidence, allowing it to manifest in our lives as simplicity, peace, and authentic presence.

This one day retreat will be Sunday, April 28 at the Granville Ferry Community Hall.  It will start at 9 am with guided meditation, followed by a talk and discussion.  We will share a pot luck lunch at the Hall, followed by another talk, discussion and contemplations.  The day will conclude at 3:30 pm.  It will be available online on Zoom or in person.  (Moh will be here in person.)

Please come at 8:30 for coffee, tea and muffins.  The program will start at 9.  A variety of floor cushions and chairs will be available, or you can bring your own cushions if you prefer.

    About Moh Hardin:

Moh Hardin is a long time friend of the Annapolis Shambhala Meditation Group.  He lives in Halifax and has led annual retreats with us for many years.

Moh was born in South Carolina, the son of a Methodist minister.  He graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in music.  At the time, Moh considered himself an independent thinker who would never have a spiritual teacher. Then an encounter with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, the founder of Shambhala, changed his mind: "His words were true to my experience...and he had nothing in it for himself. "

Moh held several positions in Shambhala including as Director of the Halifax Shambhala Centre from 1991 to 2001.  He held the title of Acharya because of his knowledge, wisdom, and commitment to the confluence of teachings found in Shambhala.
