The Annapolis Shambhala Meditation Centre
Proudly serving meditation practitioners in the Annapolis Royal area for over 30 years, the Annapolis Shambhala Meditation Centre offers public meditation, spiritual teachings in the Shambhala and Buddhist traditions, and a vibrant community of fellow meditators.
Everyone is welcome in our community. Our purpose is to help people of all traditions discover their innate wisdom, by offering teachings on meditation in accord with our view that human beings are basically good.
We recognize and respectfully acknowledge that the Annapolis Shambhala Centre is located in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. We are all beneficiaries of the Peace and Friendship Treaties with the Mi’kmaq First Nation and we are all Treaty People.
Discovering Mindful-Awareness Meditation
Meditation in Shambhala
Meditation works with the natural state of the human mind—at rest, open, and alert. Undertaken as a regular practice, meditation helps the mind to relax and settle. It encourages our inherent qualities of stability, clarity, and mental strength to emerge.
In Shambhala, we practice meditation as a personal path of exploration and as a vehicle to benefit ourselves and our world.
