    Tonglen (Tibetan for "sending and taking") is a meditation practice of exchanging oneself for others.  We take on the pain and suffering of others and send them relief.  We start each session with sitting meditation, do tonglen for 15 minutes, and conclude with sitting meditation.  Before starting the practice we list friends and family who are suffering, and include them in our practice.
