Local Community, Global Connection
As part of our sangha (community), we have access to the global Shambhala community. Our Centre is based in the the Annapolis Royal area, in Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, Canada. We lease the Granville Ferry Community Hall for meditation sessions and other programs. Most of us live nearby although others are further away and some join us from New England. It’s a wonderful place to live and the photos of our area appear throughout this website.
We are affiliated with the worldwide Shambhala community which is a global network of people from all walks of life, dedicated to the principle that every human being has a fundamental nature of basic goodness.
We have confidence in the basic goodness and worthiness of humanity—and the power of that goodness to bring positive change. Your praticipation in Shambhala is an opportunity to participate and share in the work of creating a sane human society.

Components of Membership
Meditation Practice
Making a connection to mindfulness-awareness meditation or related contemplative practice and integrating this practice into daily life is considered the best way for people to support our local Shambhala Meditation Centre and benefit the world and ourselves.
CODE OF CONDUCT
The Code of Conduct applies to everyone in Shambhala and at every activity sponsored by Shambhala. The Code of Conduct is an offering by and for the community, as a collective commitment to the quality of the environment we seek to establish and maintain for ourselves and provide for our guests and new members. In this way, the Code is a mirror, a map, or a guide.
VOLUNTEERING
Shambhala members volunteer according to their inspiration, talents and time. Volunteering is an opportunity to put our meditation into action and makes a vital contribution to centre programs and events.
Financial Support
Financial giving is viewed as part of our practice. Also, the centre relies on the financial help to pay basic operating expenses. We invite everyone to give what they feel inspired or are able to offer. An active status requires at least one donation a year to be listed as a member.
